DNS F.A.Q

Question: I am a hosting customer, what nameservers should I use?

Answer: Please use the following:

ns1.dec2gmedia.com
ns2.dec2gmedia.com

Question: I am a reseller customer, which nameservers should I use?

Answer: Please use those assigned to you in your welcome email message, which take the following format:

ns1.yourdomain.com
ns2.yourdomain.com

Question: How can I upgrade my account? Is it seamless?

Answer: You may upgrade your account and/or billing cycles at any time, and it is completely seamless. Please submit a request via https://accounts.dec2gmedia.com

Question: How long will it take for DNS changes to take hold?

Answer: It may take anywhere from 24-72 hours. During this period of time you may find it to flap back and forth from your old and new locations. This is absolutely normal behavior.

Question: How do I transfer my domain to your services?

Answer: In order to transfer your domain you must update your nameservers with your domain registrar, to those that we provided you in your welcome email message.

Question: How long do subdomains take to appear online?

Answer: When you add a subdomain such as you.yourdomain.com it will be inputted into the nameservers immediately. It may take up to 4 hours for you to see it live on the internet.

Question: How do I modify my MX records?

Answer: You may modify your MX records via your control panel, or by requesting assistance from one of our support representatives.

Question: Why does DNS take so long to propagate?

Answer: The domain namespace systems have been designed for efficiency, and as a result DNS servers cache records for specified periods of time. DNS servers will cache records for as long as the record indicates it should be cached. We typically recommend a customer wait 24-72 hours before sounding the alarms
